Bored is currently only available on Base Network.

Bored is a community token that was publicly funded in a pre-raise. It was introduced through Farcaster by a user called Bored, a pseudonymous account known on Twitter as BoredElonMusk, as an “endorsement of the shift of my mental energy and digital distribution into this new network.”

Bored is a meme coin, which may also be referred to as a community token or scene coin.

Bored launched on April 10, 2024, and is being distributed as an airdrop to active members of the Boredcaster party on party.app.

A portion of Bored tokens are to be airdropped in 4 rounds to 500 holders of Boredcaster NFTs. As per information available in the Bored whitepaper, Party.app was used to launch $BORED with a distribution of an even number of tokens coins split between member allocations and a liquidity pool. This is supposed to avoid a situation where LP and party members’ holdings differ, leading to prices different from what party members paid and affecting market volatility. Therefore the mechanism requires the price to open exactly at the same amount as party members paid into the initial community crowdfund.

Token distribution is described as: 40% to contributing members, 40% to the Liquidity Pool, and 20% to Boredcaster NFT Holders to be released in 4 waves of 5% over 12 months. All tokens are in circulation.
