Aerodrome (AERO) is distributed to liquidity providers who manage a position on the Aerodrome Finance platform. Users can lock their AERO tokens for veAERO participate in governance decisions, vote on protocol changes, and control the distribution of rewards for liquidity providers.

Aerodrome (AERO) is natively deployed on Base, a Layer 2 solution built on Ethereum.

The team behind Aerodrome Finance includes contributors from the Velodrome Finance team, as the platform is heavily inspired by Velodrome V2's design and governance model. Velodrome Finance is a well-established AMM on the Optimism network, and the Aerodrome project is an extension of those concepts specifically adapted to the Base network.
